Our client, a Housing Association with many developments in the Borders area, is urgently seeking a Part-Time Housing Officer to join their expanding team on an interim basis. The role isexpected to last 4-6 months, with the possibility of the job going permanent for the right candidate.
The role will be a diverse one and the successful candidate will be required to undertake a variety of tasks including:
- Process housing applications, including home visits
- Agree settling in programmes
- Conduct arrears visits and implement repayment plans
- Advise on a range of housing benefits issues
- To identify and arrange repairs issues
- Liaise with and assist volunteers
- Encourage and support tenant participation
- Ensure quick turnarounds when processing voids
The successful candidate will be expected to provide their own transport and they will be required to travel to different towns in the borders, however an essentials users car allowance will be paid for this. You will be expected to have a current Enhanced Disclosure for this role and if you do not you must be willing to be put through one (Hays Social Housing will cover the cost of this).
The clientwould ideally like someone to work 5 days every fortnight, however they are flexible on how this is split up and there are no fixed days.
