    Job Purpose

    This job operates within the group engineering department and requires a technical understanding of current engineering standards, practices and procedures.
    The senior engineer will be required to perform general engineering tasks as directed by the engineering team leader in order to fulfil the requirements of engineering projects.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Check/approve engineering documentation and PDM entry as required.
    Functionally supervise and mentor engineers and drafters working alongside.
    Perform all tasks in accordance with the company quality procedures and group standards.
    Be fully familiar with operation of engineering systems and software packages.
    Actively involved in engineering meetings and reviews as required.
    Undertake a lead engineering function within a project as and when required.
    Ensuring the design process in the company is robust by chairing design reviews and performing technical audits.
    Mentoring, coaching and long term development of engineers/drafters.
    Ensuring that the quality of service and products offered by the company to clients is suitable and fit for purpose.
    Ensuring that tasks are undertaken within the allotted time and budget with the assigned resource.
    Assist in cost, time resource (CTR) planning.

    The position operates within group engineering and requires a technical understanding of engineering standards, practices and procedures.
    The position requires excellent time management, accurate time writing and work prioritisation to demonstrate effective usage of time.
    The main activity is working on engineering projects to fulfil the requirements of group engineering clients, and to produce all required documentation so that equipment can be manufactured, assembled, tested and operated safely, efficiently with minimal non conformances and corrective actions.

    Qualifications/Experience

    Suitable degree or masters qualification in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent with a number of years relevant engineering experience.
    Working knowledge of engineering systems, standards and practices.
    A number of years engineering experience.
    Ideally some exposure to a supervisory role.
    Mechanical background with a number of years experience within the oil and gas industry.
    Significant design experience.
    Ability to dictate and make technical judgments on engineering documentation.
    Strong communication skills.
    Ability to interface and present to other parts of the business, clients and vendors.
    The jobholder is required to be an effective, proactive and technically competent engineer that requires minimum supervision.
