As part of the Investment Management Technology group, the Product ASD (Application Service Delivery) team is responsible for the support of proprietary applications used by the Investment Management business in the EMEA region. The group interfaces directly with all levels of business end-users, other technology groups and external vendors.
 
We are looking for a support professional to support fund management and trading applications, and their users, within the Fixed Income management environments. 
 
Strong analytical skills are required to resolve issues, identify root causes and maintain overall application availability.  Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required in order to communicate successfully to Fund Managers and Traders and maintain close contact with the existing support team.

Technical Competencies: 
 Essential:
  • Any SQL-based RDBMS
  • UNIX
  • JAVA
Preferred:
  • Experience of one of more of the following:
  • Electronic (FIX, MQ) Messaging
  • Visual Basic (.NET)
  • Job scheduling experience
  • Experience of financial services.
 Person Specification (e.g. background/personal competencies):
  • Willingness to cross-train and ability to learn quickly
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent multi-tasking capabilities
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills - both written and verbal
  • A self-starter, with the confidence to drive issues through to resolution at a fast pace
  • Flexibility - able to change priorities at short notice
There will also be a requirement to perform a nightshift function, currently this averages at 1 week in 6 but frequency can differ from month to month.
 
The role is to be based in our European Technology Centre based in Glasgow.
