Job Description
BUSINESS ANALYST
Our client, a major funds and private equity administration firm, is seeking a Business Analyst to support the Service Level Manager in the implementation of new technologies. In particular, the role will focus on the configuration, training, support and testing processes.
They are looking to hold interviews with Scottish-based candidates in Edinburgh/Glasgow in February 2012.
Key objectives:
€¢Promoting the strategic policy of the Company
€¢Contribute and support tactical improvements to the day to day operations
€¢Develop and maintain an effective working relationship with colleagues
€¢Co-operate with colleagues to promote an open and supportive environment
€¢Carry out duties in a careful and professional manner
Duties:
€¢Support the Service Level Manager in the costing and prioritisation of activity within agreed budgets.
€¢Work within the Technology Security policy
€¢Gain an overall understanding of the:
Technology Continuity policy
Technology Capacity policy
Technology Availability policy
€¢Work with end users and the Service Level Manager to analyse and prepare requests for change within the ITIL framework.
€¢Present requests for change to the Change Advisory Board.
€¢Support the Head of Development and Technology in the creation and deployment of approved requests for change.
€¢Work with the Service Level Manager to document critical dependencies between configuration items.
€¢Support the specification and configuration of all software.
€¢Support the unit and user testing of relevant releases in consultation with the Service Level Manager.
€¢Accurately update the configuration management database after each release
€¢Provide second line support for an agreed software portfolio in consultation with the Service Desk.
Candidate Requirements:
€¢Good command of both spoken and written English.
€¢Ideally experience in previous change and/or project analysis and management
€¢Highly numerate and analytical
€¢Ability to gain commitment of individuals with judicious use of interpersonal and influencing skills.
€¢Full knowledge of funds administration supported by relevant professional qualifications.
€¢Analysis developed in areas of idea creation, analysis and recommendation.
€¢Ideally a solid grounding in PRINCE II
