Job Description

Change are currently recruiting for an experienced statutory reporting accountant for our client based in Edinburgh City Centre. The role is for an initial period of 9 months to be reviewed with a potential permanent vacancy arising, depending on performance. Applicants for this role must be qualified with a solid statutory accounting background and up to date IFRS knowledge. Duties of the role will include;

• Preparation and completion of quarterly statutory returns in line with departmental timescales – full pack with supporting commentary

• Identification of reporting issues and proactively working with the business to resolve

• Investigation of discrepancies

• Consolidation of various legal entities from across the group – UK and Overseas

• Production of statutory accounts for various entities ensuring compliance with IFRS and GAAP

• Providing technical accounting assistance where appropriate

• Executive level commentary as required

• Maintain and actively seek to improve financial controls

• Develop key working relationships with associated business units

• Assisting with project related work and acting as SME for financial accounting and statutory reporting matters

• Actively seeking to improve current controls

• Ad hoc supplementary reporting as required

The successful applicant will have experience working in financial services or from a top 10 practice client where robust financial controls and IFRS are common place. Experience of a financial accounting environment is essential to ensure a rapid transition in to the role along with a proven background in statutory account preparation.

Applicants will be expected to give relevant information surrounding their experience and be able to discuss at length. Availability to start at short notice is of benefit but not essential as a 4 week notice will be considered.

Daily Rate - £350 - £450 per day
