Job Description

Technical Support Agent - 2nd Line

£15,000-£18,000 depending on experience

We are currently looking for a self-motivated Technical support agent to join our IT client’s 2nd line team. Your role will be to deal with inbound customer queries via phone calls and tickets. Delivering a first class customer service experience is as important as the technical trouble shooting ability that is required to meet all customers’ requirements.

Knowledge and Experience Required

At least 6 months’ customer service or technical experience, e.g.:                 -Domains & DNS                 - Email Configuration, on Mail Clients & Mobile Phone handsets                 -FTP and Website Configuration Knowledge                 -Virtual & Dedicated Server Knowledge 

- Active interest in Servers and associated technology. * Strong understanding of core Linux/Windows administration skills * Self-starter, ability to work unsupervised when necessary * Strong understanding of Web and Email server software (Apache, IIS,MYSQL,postfix etc.) * Excellent communication skills with a helpful and professional telephone manner

Preferable knowledge / experience of:

-Exchange Server * Windows Server 2003/2008 Server Administration * Experience with Active Directory / Centralised AV platforms * Some knowledge of programming languages not essential but would be of use * MSSQL / MySQL database servers
