Job Description

FUND ACCOUNTANT

Our client is one of the fastest growing private equity and fund administration firms in Europe, with developing operations in key mainland and offshore locations.

As part of their continuing expansion, they are looking to recruit a number of professionals to join their operations in the highly desirable offshore and low-tax location of Guernsey.

As such, they are keen to hear from and conduct interviews in Glasgow for locally-based candidates in the final week of February 2012.

Reporting to the Senior Fund Accountant and Client Directors, the Fund Accountant will assume responsibility for:

  • €¢A portfolio of the Company' s clients

  • €¢Training and support of junior staff

  • €¢Promotion of company policy and implementation

  • €¢Develop and maintain close working relationships with clients & colleagues

As well as producing accounts, the Fund Accountant must support Assistant and Client Directors to ensure the smooth performance of the Company. Dealing with client requests and acting as director of the management companies with responsibility for all individuals reporting to him/her directly.

Key Responsibilities

  • €¢Training and development of staff, while motivating and supporting team members

  • €¢Liaise closely with clients.

  • €¢To assist with all aspects of general administration

  • €¢Assist in production of management, interim and audited accounts

  • €¢Oversee the bookkeeping process and review ledgers

  • €¢Control and produce final accounts

  • €¢Assist in the planning of annual audits, working closely with clients to meet deadlines for valuations and reports

Requirements:

  • €¢A formal accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, ICAS, ICAEW etc)

  • €¢Sound working knowledge of accounting, including accounts preparation

  • €¢Preferably some experience in a private equity, funds or investment company, or a background in financial services audit

  • €¢A team-player with strong time-management skills

  • €¢Fluent English language and communications skills
