1. To be accountable at all time to the Chief Executive and to work closely with the Commercial Manager.
2. To become established as a role model for St. Margaret of Scotland Hospice and to represent the Hospice as requested by the Chief Executive.
3. To actively manage the Shop in the best interests of the Hospice at all times including responsibility for attending to the shop, as key-holder, “out-of-hours” in the situation of say alarm or break-in.
4. To be responsible for the general promotion and organisation of the shop including the shop-window dressing as well as ensuring the shop is kept clean, tidy and secure at all times. This includes the locking and unlocking of the shop and, when necessary, the movement of goods including furniture.
5. To drive suitable vehicles on account of the Hospice where necessary and with responsibility and due consideration for legislation. Throughout employment the post-holder must inform the Hospice Administrator / Human Resources Manager of any endorsements to their driving licence immediately.
6. To organise the preparation of ironing and laundry of clothing and the minor repair of furniture and similar items in advance of sale.
7. To keep a record of all income and expenditure for audit and management purposes and to carry out all administration for the shop.
