Modis International are recruiting for a SERVICE ENGINEER WITH AN ELECTRICAL BIAS TO JOIN their clients TEAM IN HAMILTON.

The client is supplying fully integrated offshore and marine handling systems for well over 30 years. Having fully integrated and developed the established cable and pipe handling systems of Dowty Precision Handling Systems with the seismic and oceanographic handling systems of Marine Project Developments coupled with the well proven class leading drives and control systems of the clients brand, the result is a highly experienced one stop source for all commercial, marine, offshore and naval handling system requirements.

The Role...

Responsible for the service, repair, installation, commissioning and site support of company engineering project systems in line with company and recognised standards.
Produce complete and comprehensive test documentation.
Liaison and at times form a close working relationship with software, design, panel build, shop floor, purchasing, sales, spares and customers.

Provide support and assistance to other departments including shop floor activities.
Active role in improving efficiency and working practices.
Work in varying locations throughout the world for extended periods, sometimes at short notice.
Undertake any other reasonable tasks which are deemed by the company to be within their ability, competence and experience.

To undertake all duties in such a way as to protect and enhance the reputation and profile of the company
Person Specification

The successful applicant will demonstrate some or all of the following skills.

Education/Qualifications Required
Qualified to ONC, HNC or above in Electrical / Electronic Engineering
Sound instrumentation & controls background
Demonstrated experience in the testing, commissioning and servicing of drive and control systems., including but not limited to PLC's, AC/DC Drives & SCADA.
Fully conversant in reading electrical and mechanical circuit diagrams
Negotiation skills and the ability to communicate complex technical information are essential
Experienced in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel etc.)
Experienced in the use of AutoCAD advantageous
Enjoy multi-tasking on several projects at the same time
Will have a desire to travel and work within very diverse projects that are based all over the world.
