Full Description:
A major provider of student accommodation in Edinburgh urgently requires an experienced housing professional in Edinburgh city centre for approx 6 months, with a strong possibility of the job being made permanent thereafter.

You will be responsible for supporting the Student Accommodation Officer to ensure the effective operation of the student accommodation function. This will cover not only the student session but also the summer vacation period when the flats are let to groups and holidaymakers visiting the city.

Duties include:

* Assisting the Accommodation Officer in the overall care, supervision, maintenance and cleanliness of the properties.
* Flat checks using an agreed checklist with particular reference to fire regulations, HMO regulation, health and safety and good housekeeping.
* Undertaking lease-end inspections in June, at the end of the student session, once the students are leaving.
* Reporting any repairs picked up during flat checks to the Facilities Help desk and ensure that they are fully completed within the correct timescales.

Ideal candidates for this role could come from a variety of backgrounds, including Social Housing (Housing Officer, Estate Management Office, Temporary Accommodation Officer etc) or private sector property rentals.

You must be comfortable dealing with tenants face to face, have good attention to detail, be comfortable working without supervision and have your own transport.
