Location: Edinburgh

Reporting to: Software Team Leader

Serious C#.Net or C++ developers required to join an established team in Edinburgh. You will be responsible for working with a Senior Developer on designated software features, taking responsibility for providing solutions to complex problems. Implementation, testing and documentation skills are all required.

THE COMPANY
Our client is a specialist software development centre, they have a strong track record in providing a dynamic and challenging working environment where ability and commitment is rewarded with technical and career progression.

EXPERIENCE
We require a strong C# Developer or C++ developer, ideally in a scientific or technical environment.

An excellent academic record, including an honours degree qualification in computing or a mathematics.
Knowledge of low-level systems behaviour, such as memory management schemes, garbage collection schemes, etc.
An understanding of the factors affecting software performance, and the ability to design and write code that is maintainable, extensible and efficient.
Supervisory skills - experience mentoring more junior engineers.
Experience in a scientific or technical environments

Familiarity with modern software engineering techniques, such as extreme programming and agile project management methodologies such as Scrum

Candidates MUST have a degree in computer science or mathematics and be comfortable with dealing with complex problems and advanced mathematics/algorithms and have the ability to work comfortably with multiple coordinate spaces, and transform between them.
