THE ROLE Structural CAD Technician
Location:Glasgow
Salary:£19-23k

FPSG are currently looking for a Structural CAD Technician to join the Glasgow Building Structures team of a Leading Consulting Engineers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing detailed designs for building structures projects, both new-build and refurbishments, including multi-storey offices and apartment blocks, schools, hospitals and mixed use developments. You will liaise with clients, contractors and engineers, developing existing working relationships as part of a team, always displaying professionalism and acting in the interests of the client.

This is very much a hands-on detailed design role, using the latest industry specific software to produce 2D and 3D details and general arrangements for structures in steel, concrete, timber and masonry. You will have the opportunity to work with, and learn from; extensively experienced structural technicians and engineers who will act as mentors and help you develop your CAD skills and understanding of structures. This is an excellent opportunity for a Civil/Structural CAD Technician looking to use and improve their skills, challenge themselves on interesting projects, and progress their careers rapidly.

You are required to have proven structural CAD skills working in all materials on building structures projects. A working understanding of AutoCAD is essential, preferably both 2D and 3D, although training will be given to fill any knowledge gaps and improve your skills. You are likely to be at least HNC qualified (or equivalent) in civil engineering or a related subject. Knowledge of building structures projects in a commercial consultancy environment is essential, as is the ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to a variety of individuals from various professional backgrounds.
