| Our client's mechanical engineering team provides comprehensive analytical consulting services on a range of power plant auxiliary plant items. These services are mainly supplied to thermal, hydro, diesel and nuclear generating plants. Typical projects will involve the application of practical engineering skills associated with thermal power and other related industries and could typically involve: Provision of boiler performance advice, including pro-active participation as part of a team providing process / mechanical services Develop relationship with the other boiler performance team in the UK Contribute to our clients core activities in the boiler field Provision of design, operational and maintenance advice to wide range of customers. Coordinating and organising work schedule to suit customer requirements Developing and maintaining customer relationships. Although primarily focused on the UK, the work can include involvement with projects undertaken by other offices around the world. The candidate will be expected to produce work of a high standard, demonstrating your engineering ability and you will be expected to peer review the work of other engineers. Key responsibilities: Provision of design, operational and maintenance advice to wide range of customers. Coordinating and organising work schedule to suit customer requirements Developing and maintaining customer relationships. Candidates should ideally possess: Qualified to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant subject. Membership of IMechE or IChemI and Chartered Engineer status (or working towards) Good understanding of power station boiler operation Flexible approach as required for site work in operational power stations. Good written skills and familiarity with MS Word, Excel, etc Numerate. Good communication skills with ability to present arguments both verbally and written. Ability to understand a wide range of processes through review of P&IDs, operating instructions, etc and to be able to communicate this to a variety of levels within a client organisation. Plant experience to allow a degree of troubleshooting based on real plant issues. Understanding of the stages in an engineering project - applicable both to small plant upgrade/modification and the implementation of a major new plant installation. Adaptable and able to apply skills in new areas when required. This position will provide a generous salary package, car allowance, health insurance and an excellent pension package.
