Senior OO Developer required Location: Edinburgh Salary: £30,000 to £36,000 Benefits Package: Excellent Reporting to: Software Team Leader We require a Senior C++ developer who also has exposure to either C# or Java, ideally in a scientific, academic, or technical environment. An excellent academic record, including an honours degree qualification (ideally Phd) in computing, Physics or Mathematics. Joining an established team in Edinburgh, you will be responsible for working on designated software features, taking responsibility for providing solutions to complex problems. Implementation, testing and documentation skills are all required. THE COMPANY Our client is a specialist software development centre, they have a strong track record in providing a dynamic and challenging working environment where ability and commitment is rewarded with technical and career progression. EXPERIENCE A strong background in C++ Development is a must, and candidates must also demonstrate exposure to and experience of either Java or C# too. An excellent academic record, including a minimum of an honours degree qualification in computing, mathematics, or physics. Phd qualified candidates in Mathematics or Physics with strong C++/C# or Java experience will be looked upon most favourably. Experience as a software engineer in a scientific or technical environment. Experience in the design and the delivery of major products or product features. Experience involving requirements definition with significant customer communication. Experience in working with agile project management methodologies (such as Scrum) and modern software engineering techniques (such as extreme programming, iterative development, pair programming and unit testing) Evidence of having successfully made technical decisions for projects that delivered products or product features in time, to budget and to specification, in such a way that they continue to be maintainable and extensible.
