THE ROLE Ingres Developer

Location: Glasgow

Salary: Excellent

Benefits Package: £35,000 to 45,000 depending on experience

Reporting to: Line Manager

THE COMPANY

Our client is widely recognised as the premier financial services organization operating worldwide.

EXPERIENCE

We are currently trying to recuit for an experienced INGRES developer to work on permanent basis.Candidates will be working within a development team providing design, coding, and unit testing services to projects and will ensure the delivery of part of this programme to constraints. You be involved in taking business requirements and translating them into technical and functional designs, producing and maintaining application code. Providing support to testing cycles ensuring that defects are resolved. There would be al element of 3rd line support for applications supported by the development team. Candidates should have demonstrable expertise in INGRES (Ingres Open Road, Ingres2.6) and a good understanding of SQL. Further desirable skills include: Report writing skills. HP Unix shell scripting. HP Unix operating system, OOD, Clearcase and C++. The main responsibilities for this position are: Design and code system enhancements. Carry out unit testing of program deliverables. Carry out peer reviews of program units produced by other members of the development team. Assist Testers so that they can gain the necessary understanding of system behaviour to enable efficient and effective independent testing to be carried out.
