Full Description:
My client is large consultancy with 17 offices across the UK, Ireland, France and Spain with bases in Scotland currently in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee and Aberdeen. It is one of the leading competitors in its field winning multiple projects across the country. This consultancy specialises in project management, consulting and cost control and is looking to grow through acquisition. At present the largest projects include a £270 million hospital project, a £230 million shopping centre and it also has a fantastic reputation within the retail sector.

Currently, my client is looking to recruit a CDM Coordinator to head up the East in terms of CDM duties. Basic duties will involve:

Assist and advise the Client in respect of the CDM Regulations as necessary
Raise project notifications (initial and revised) advising the HSE of the project
Designer and contractor competence assessments
Request/review and advice on background information, e.g. soil conditions, existing services.
Visit sites
Review the design with respect to health and safety seeking designer compliance with the regulations (drawing review)
Prepare and issue appropriate Pre-Construction Information (equivalent to Pre-Tender Health and Safety Plan)
Review the Principal Contractor's Construction Phase Health and Safety Plan and advise the Client on its suitability for a site start (to allow a site start) including welfare arrangements
Ongoing design audit during construction phase
Prepare and issue a Health and Safety File to the Client
