My client is a large public sector body concerned with the provision of affordable housing to over 6,000 households in the Midlothian Area. Due to a change in staffing arrangements, they have instructed Hays to source candidates for a freelance role that could last up to two years for the right candidate.
The successful candidate will be involved in around twenty different projects focusing on new developments, and will be concerned with the pre and post contract stages of each project. The post will involve a strong element of cost reporting and management to ensure that projects are delivered on cost and in line with agreements made at tender stage. There will also be some project management of internal projects, as the management of external consultants as and when they prove necessary
The successful candidate will come from either a PQS or contracting background, and will have extensive experience in working with housing projects in either the public or private sectors. You will be comfortable dealing with several projects at once, and will have a good level of commercial awareness. MRICS status would be beneficial, but is not essential, and my client is particularly interested in candidates with background in or working with the house building industry.
