Social Work Team Leader - Children and Families, Full-time 3 month locum contract
Location: Edinburgh -Midlothian
Salary: £23 - £25 per hour
Benefits Package: Negotiable
Reporting to: Practice Manager and Head of Service Social Work
Based near Edinburgh, our client is looking for an experienced social work team leader or senior social worker to join their friendly children and families team. You will support staff to deliver quality services in the areas of child protection, looked after children, and the Childrens Hearings system. In addition, you will provide direction and support to social workers working with families affected by children with a disability. A brief outline of duties are as follows: -
To lead a team of Social Work staff in the delivery of a frontline service, to an identified client group, by providing line management and professional support.
To be responsible for the quality of service provided by the team and to contribute to service development.
To take a lead role in developing and overseeing a specific professional area and provide advice on future developments.

EXPERIENCE
You must have a recognised Social Work qualification (DipSW or equivalent), the skills to work constructively with families and with partner services, and must be registered with the SSSC or GSCC. A post qualifying award in Child Protection or other relevant area is desirable.
It is essential that applicants possess statutory social work experience in the UK. Applicants who do not have UK social work experience will not be considered for the post due to the needs of the client at the present time.
An enhanced Disclosure or CRB is essential also, this can be undertaken on applying for the position.
