THE ROLE - Planning Engineers x 2
Location: Aberdeen
Term: On going contract
THE COMPANY
Our Client, a major multinational operating company in the North Sea oil industry.
JOB DESCRIPTION
To proactively provide planning and reporting expertise to the engineering management to help ensure that all onshore and offshore activities are effectively scheduled, resourced, monitored and reported on, in accordance with asset and client requirements.

JOB SPECIFICATION
Provide an effective and efficient planning service to Engineering Management
Maintain onshore and offshore engineering & construction plans for all engineering change proposal work and any other planning requirements required to support the delivery of such requirements
Provide engineering management with accurate reporting data to ensure effective utilisation of resources, both offshore and onshore.
Interface with Integrated Asset Planner to ensure all offshore work is correctly scheduled and resourced.
Provide adequate planning support in the event of asset shutdowns.
Work closely with the cost engineers in order to provide accurate historical and forecast data, whilst ensuring a robust coding structure is consistently applied.
Support any improvement or benchmarking activities in Cost & Planning
Implement best practice within ISCs - based on global standards
Role Activities and Tasks
Scheduling of all onshore and offshore activity, liaising with the appropriate management personnel to ensure that the Asset's priorities are reflected in the scheduling process.
Ongoing interface with the integrated asset team to ensure that all engineering activity is continually and accurately reflected in the asset long, medium and short term plans.
Responsible for identifying detailed onshore and offshore resource demands and maintaining the relevant interfaces in order to resolve any resource conflicts. Monitor long lead equipment delivery dates.
Preparation of appropriate forecast values and dates to support management control processes, reflecting the most up to date position and incorporating all known variances.
Capture and incorporate progress in the plan; discuss and challenge progress in order to maintain the overall quality of the plan. Prepare and evaluate different options and scenarios for discussion with the appropriate engineering personnel.
Liaise closely with construction personnel to prepare shutdown plans where required or provide accurate data to facilitate offshore shutdown planning.
The key systems used are SAP, P3e, WPS and Mpower. The planning engineer will be required to develop a level of expertise of the systems in order to deliver an efficient planning service.
Actively participate in:
Weekly/monthly progress and review meetings with engineering
Integrated asset meetings to discuss long, medium and short term plans.

Required Characteristics:
Experienced in engineering and construction planning, creating detailed plans in P3e, and utilising the appropriate work management system (WPS). Develop a familiarisation of SAP/P3e/Mpower interfaces. Preparation of timely and accurate, historical and forecast tabular and graphical reports.
