Welders - Arc Welders
Aspirare are currently recruiting for a major client who are based in the Edinburgh area. They are looking for Time Served Welders who have experience in Heavy Engineering.
Job Responsibilities
ARC welding experience to weld repair crossings etc. Processing the work safely and efficiently in line with the directive given by the Machine Shop Manager.
Description of duties
1.Observe and conform at all times to Safe Working Practices and current
Health and Safety Requirements.
2.Tasks to be completed must conform to the Quality Standards and
Internal Quality Assurance Work Instructions.
3.Maintain good housekeeping in welding bays.
4.Weld in accordance with approved procedures.
5.Accurately and efficiently carry out welding operations.
6.Ensure Plant and Equipment is operated correctly and any defects are brought to attention of Machine Shop Manager.
7.Co-operate with Machine Shop Manager with a view to improving standards and reducing costs.
8.Any other duties/tasks as defined by Machine Shop Manager.
Skills and Experience
1.ARC Welding experience is essential using the SMAW process.
2.Previous experience of carrying out weld repairs on steel castings is preferred.
3.Welding manganese steels experience is an advantage.
4.'Coded' to PCN or ASME qualification systems
