| Machine Shop Technician - Milling Machine Operator/Horizontal Operator Aspirare are currently recruiting for a major client who are based in the Edinburgh area. They are looking for Machine Shop Technicians who have experience in Heavy Engineering. Job Responsibilities To Machine castings/fabrications and carry out manual milling. Processing the work safely and efficiently in line with the directive given by the Machine Shop Manager. Description of duties 1.Observe and conform at all times to Safe Working Practices and current Health and Safety Requirements. 2.Tasks to be completed must conform to the Quality Standards and Internal Quality Assurance Work Instructions. 3.Maintain good housekeeping in machine shop areas. 4.Dimensional mark off / prior to machining. 5. Dimensional inspection of finished components. 6.Accurately and efficiently carry out general machining operations. 7.Ensure Plant and Equipment is operated correctly and any defects are brought to attention of Machine Shop Manager. 8.Co-operate with Machine Shop Manager with a view to improving standards and reducing costs. 9.Any other duties/tasks as defined by Machine Shop Manager. Skills and Experience 1.Time served milling machine operator / horizontal operator preferred.. 2.Able to review and understand engineering drawings. 3.Flexibility is required to enable production schedules to be met accordingly. 4. The ability to work with minimum supervision and with the team to achieve results and production targets.
