One of the UK's leading providers of sheltered housing urgently requires and experienced Housing Officer to join their team on a long term temporary contract.
The main purpose of the role is to ensure that tenants and service users are provided with appropriate and efficient housing and support services. The role will be a diverse one though and includes:
- Tenancy Support - Rent Arrears, Housing Benefits, Advice on Tenancy Agreements, Liaising with multiple agencies, Tenant Participation, Rehousing Issues
- Scheme Management - Scheme Visits, Tenant Welfare, Replacement of Furniture, Supported Housing Policy, Health & Safety, Ensuring Staff comply with Care Commission requirements, Responding to Complaints
- Staff Supervision - Manage scheme managers, Provide training, Provide Support, Manage Performance Issues
- Allocations -Interviewing and Assessingapplicants for all forms of Supported Housing, Allocating tenancies in accordance with agreed criteria. A drivers licence and access to a car would be a distinct advantage for this role as youwill be required to travel between the various schemes. A current enhanced disclosure is essential for the role and if you do not already have one then you must be willing to have one carried out on you by Hays (at no cost to yourself).
