Full Description:
Ensure laboratory work is carried our safe and environmentally responsible manner
Maintain a clear record of measured data; present data in an appropriate format, and where applicable, draw conclusions, and make recommendations for further work
Read applicable literature to keep up to date on assigned projects
All laboratory equipment will be maintained in clean operable condition. Specified equipment will be cleaned with oil for lubrication and preventive of corrosion. Calibration will be checked regularly
Maintain good house keeping practices
Ensure equipment spares and chemical stock are kept at optimum level
Sample handling, incoming samples will be properly documented and labelled on the COSHH database. After screening they will be organisaed and stored or returned to the submitter.
Be aware of laboratory hazards at all times, report immediately to a superior or submit a HazOp card to the LPT
Participate in all safety meeting and LPT (if assigned)
Conduct any other task as reasonably requested by the Line Manager or Research Manager

Responsibilities:

 Perform laboratory tests as assigned, to API and M-I standard, to
further the objectives of the assigned project, in an efficient and
cost effective manner
 Stay abreast of company and industry development s but using
appropriate internal correspondence, seminars, journals and
training courses.
Conform to companies and customer Quality, Health & Safety and
Environmental Policies, Procedures and Quality Plan
 Maintain an active role in the identification of opportunities for
improvement in the companies Quality, Health & Safety and
Environmental management systems and where relevant, assist in
the implementation of the improvements

Personal Specifications

 BSc or equivalent in a appropriate science
 Previous laboratory experience preferred
 BSc New Hires
 Competent in Microsoft Office
