Job Description
First People Care Solutions are currently recruiting for a small, friendly local authority based in Scotland. Our client is looking for a qualified Occupational Therapist, with management experience to manage a close nit, vibrant, Community Care Team, on a permanent basis.
Based in a local area office 5 miles outside Edinburgh, you will support staff to deliver quality services in the areas of older persons and community care. In addition, you will provide direction and support to social workers working with families, vulnerable adults and older persons.
You must have a recognised Occupational Therapist qualification, the skills to work constructively with families and with partner services, and must be registered with the HPC. Specific duties and responsibilities in relation to the post are as follows: -
Synopsis of Key Areas/Purpose:
To line manage a group of Social Work Occupational Therapists in a Care Management Team and be responsible for the delivery of a quality service within the key stages of Care Management
To ensure that Risk is assessed in accordance with procedures
To manage referrals, identify operational priorities, allocate caseload, report and actively manage waiting lists in collaboration with other Team Leaders
To manage OT budget and demonstrate ability to monitor spending within agreed limits
To be aware of Scottish Government guidance on funding for Home Improvement Grants for the disabled and to manage change within the context of Council procedures
To be responsible, along with other Team Leaders for maintaining a duty system and acting as Duty Senior as part of a rota
Criteria
This really is a superb opportunity to manage an excellent team in a beautiful area of the country close to Edinburgh, with good access to the surrounding rural setting giving the successful candidate a lovely mix of rural and urban life!
The successful candidate will ideally have experience of the following;
o At least 6 months management experience
o Experience dealing with both young and old service user groups
o Knowledge of Social Work/ Occupational Health Information Systems
o Management of a budget
o Continually manage staff
o Liaise with external bodies
o Hold and chair meetings to tackle issues
Although the above skills are preferable, they are not all essential, our client just requires an adaptable team manager with the necessary experience, knowledge and ability to adopt a team and manage them.
