Established for over 30 years (with a presence in Scotland for 12 years) our client covers Construction, Civil Engineering, Demolition and Plant Hire. For our client, civil engineering remains its core activity. The division operates throughout the country covering a wide range of projects and serving both commercial and public sector clients. They participate in a number of partnering initiatives and enjoy a high level of repeat business as a result of the excellent quality of service provided. The civil engineering division offers expert services in major earth moving projects, especially those involving remediation, roads and infrastructure, complex substructures and deep basements, drainage, bridges, main frames and hard landscaping. In the role of Site Quantity Surveyor you will be based in the Edinburgh office (very close links to the city bypass and the M8 and M9) with site visits as and when required. The company has a turnover of £160 million with plans for circa £20 million plus in Scotland. This is an expanding market for our client and they work for a number of large main contractors on high profile projects. You should ideally be experienced in civils (ground works/superstructures) though candidates with building experience will also be considered. You will report into the Senior Surveyor but this is a largely autonomous role. In return for your hard work you can expect 5 weeks holiday plus stats, a 5% contributory pension, a high basic salary and company car or car allowance and private health cover.
