    Job Purpose

    To undertake the refurbishment, rough and finish machining to approved standards set down by Company specification. To satisfy the customer requirements, observing product specification, quality and health safety environment and all other relevant industry standards.

    Accountabilities

    • Carry out all aspects of machining in line with company requirements laid down within the job package

    • Maintain and be responsible for the housekeeping of the work area

    • Responsible for ensuring all work is undertaken in a safe manner and in line with the companies health and safety guidelines and policies



    Assignment Review and Approval of Work

    Work assignments will be allocated and reviewed by the Production Supervisor


    Decision Making Authority

    Assessing each task/operation on commencement of working on each component and taking decision to stop or carry on with allocated task in line with health and safety guidelines/legislation.
    Report Preparation

    • Route Sheets

    • Assessment cards and risk assessment documentation as per company’s safety procedure



    Equipment/Machinery Operation

    • Hand tools

    • Cranes/Forklifts

    • Air tools

    • Measuring equipment

    • Machines (Lathes, Drills, Horizontal/Vertical Borers)


    Contact with Others

    Internal:

    Customer service representatives, management, engineering, QA,
    inventory and purchasing personnel.

    External

    Customer inspectors

    Knowledge and Experience required:

    • Apprenticeship trained or equivalent practical experience required

    • Assessed as competent in the operation of forklift/cranes

    • Manual handling and associated HSE training/awareness

    • Product knowledge

    • Good interpersonal skills

    • Ability to work to engineering drawings with limited supervision
