First People Solutions are actively recruiting for a permanent Electrical Engineer for our client in Lanarkshire. The company is a large engineering organisation specialising in multi discpline design and project management for various industry sectors
Reporting to the Head of E, C & I your duties would include the following:
Key Objectives:
*To create designs for the Electrical installations required to fulfil the companys contracts.
*To integrate the Electrical design activities with the other processes and technical disciplines.
Main Duties:
*Development of the Electrical design to meet the contract requirements
*Identification and selection of electrical equipment to meet the contracted process requirement.
*Integration of the electrical design with rest of the equipment/structure.
*Provision of technical support to the tendering and project teams.
*Review/approval of installation drawings and diagrams.
*Review/validation of vendor designs and documentation.
*Integration with other staff to ensure the cost effective development and execution of the complete project.
*Implementing and contributing to the development of processes and procedures to ensure that all contractual requirements are achieved in a safe and cost effective manner.
*Equipment inspections - test attendance.
*To carry out such tasks within his/her capability as required by the Control and Instrumentation Manager.
Organisational Relationships:
*While reporting to Head of E, C & I, the holder will require to establish effective relationships with the project teams for which he/she is providing a design and with other Engineering staff with whom the design is being developed.
*Experience of designing electrical installations for the Offshore/ Petrochemical industries.
SKILLS
*Demonstrable knowledge of Electrical distribution MV/LV, MCCs, cable systems, lighting and small power design, earthing systems, UPS.
*Ability to produce specifications for equipment and installation activities.
*Ability to identify and use appropriate computer software.
