To provide a comprehensive range of accounting services, including financial support and advice to client , its subsidiaries and associates
Key Accountabilities:
• Business reporting
- Prepare monthly profit and loss and balance sheet accounts with support from the Finance Manager.
- Develop the relevant budgetary control, monitoring and reporting procedures which support the delivery of performance targets.
- Support the preparation of Business Plans and Budgets including the development and integration of new processes and techniques, and the challenge of proposed plans and budgets.
• Support to business improvement
- Ensure that accounting support, financial information and advice is provided to managers appropriate to developing business needs and ensure that they have the necessary information to make appropriate business decisions.
- Provide the financial input to business efficiency initiatives including the benchmarking and market testing of activities, appropriate costing and charging, etc.
- Promote and improve financial awareness at all levels
• Maintaining accounting records and controlling risk
- Maintain the accounting information
- Complete effective working capital reconciliations (including bank and inter-company reconciliations) at agreed frequencies.
- Develop accounting procedures, maintaining and improving the financial control
- Prepare the appropriate accounting returns to support statutory and regulatory reporting requirements within required timescales.
Experience and knowledge
• Part qualified or qualified accountant
• A methodical approach to systems improvement
• Proven interpersonal skills enabling effective work with both accountants and operational budget managers
• Knowledge of YW systems including WMS, SAP and BW
• A thorough understanding of financial controls.
